By the end of this course, Student Teachers will be able to:

- demonstrate knowledge of the importance of guidance and counseling to teachers and students
- critically analyse the concepts, scope, and theories that govern the process of guidance and counseling
- use the principles and functions of guidance and counseling to ensure a safe learning environment in school
- identify and apply different tools of data collection in different situations
- select and apply appropriate counseling techniques to solve students’ problems
- coordinate and communicate with various stakeholders in the process of guidance and counseling

- Theories of guidance and counseling

TRAINING METHODOLOGY
The training methodology combines lectures, discussions, group exercises and illustrations. Participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the topics. The emphasis is on the practical application of the topics and as a result participant will go back to the workplace with both the ability and the confidence to apply the techniques learned to their duties.
