The course aims at improving the capability of officers involved in extension delivery to the farmers, so that proven and relevant livestock technologies will be easily adopted by livestock farmers. At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Identify and address the weak links in the technology transfer process;
  • Select and use appropriate extension communication strategies for effective livestock technology transfer; and
  • Liaise more effectively with livestock research scientists with a view to identifying appropriate solutions to farmers’ problems.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The emphasis is on the practical application of the topics and as a result participant will go back to the workplace with both the ability and the confidence to apply the techniques learned to their duties.
